In 1994 Asperger’s Syndrome was officially recognized. In 2013, it was no longer an official diagnosis. Today, it all falls under the category of Austism Spectrum Disorder. In my mind I see it as a line, right in the middle is what we label as “Normal”; the far left being severe autism, and the far right being an unlabeled disorder I call highly social with no social skills. I am left of normal. As an introverted, left of normal, entrepreneur and business owner, I have encountered a ton of unique problems in my life that required out-of-the-box solutions. Let’s work together to create a better world, learn how to adapt, and thrive as we live life to the Left of Normal.

Last week we interviewed Holden to get his idea on what being Left of Normal was all about.
This week we have reversed the roles, and Holden gets to bet he host as I answer the questions he has for me.
We talk about being Left of Normal as a child and an adult, and what difficulties were present as a child versus as an adult.

Yes that would be neat! Sy is also a grade level ahead academically but maturity wise way behind, he is more of a class clown funny kid. So we’ve left him with his age group. Would be interested to hear how making friends has been for him in grade school. His teachers are always concerned he likes to be by himself at recess but we realize that’s him needing to recharge from being forced to be around other annoying kids all day. Anyways I appreciate your podcast and perspective.

I’ll have to get him to put together some more questions and play host again. In episode 100 he is on as a guest again and we talk about traveling.
